June 26, 2012

Fujifilm has announced that it will be expanding its range of Fujinon XF lenses for its X-Pro1 premium quality interchangeable lens camera.

By early 2013, there will be a total of 10 Fujinon XF lenses available to X-Pro1 photographers, which includes the current range of three lenses. Two new lenses are scheduled for release later this year and a further five new unique lenses will be available early next year.

Photographers will be able to select lenses that match their shooting style or purpose, enabling a wider range of photography options that extend from super wide to telephoto.

NEW Fujinon XF Lenses

In addition to the existing three single focal length lenses released in the first series, the two new lenses Fujifilm will make available later this year include a bright F2.8 super wide 14mm (21mm in 35mm equivalent) single focal length lens and a bright F2.8-4 zoom lens that covers a shooting range of 18mm to 55mm (27 – 84mm in 35mm equivalent).

Early next year, a further five new unique lenses will be added to the Fujinon XF
line-up.

FUJIFILM Senior Category Manager – Imaging, Daniel Paul, said Fujifilm is striving to develop lenses that cover a wide range of focal lengths and which offer bright and high resolution reproduction even at the periphery, so that users can enjoy the high resolution feature of the X-Pro1.

The recommended retail prices for the new range of Fujinon XF lenses will be advised at a later date.
