10x zoom, 16-megapixel CCD sensor, bright 3” LCD screen, ultra-compact

The Fujifilm FinePix T400 is an ultra-compact, 10x long zoom camera
(28-280mm) that offers fast start-up and auto focus times along with advanced features and easy to use controls, making it perfect for travelling or everyday use.

 

The slim and stylish FinePix T400 incorporates HD movie, CCD Shift Image Stabilisation, Motion Panorama, Tracking Auto Focus and Face Recognition Technology.

Fast Start-up and Focus with Easy Controls

The start-up time on the FinePix T400 has received a speed boost since the predecessor model and the auto focus (AF) time has been dramatically improved to help users lock onto their subjects. Shutter lag has also been reduced to make sure the camera is always ready for the next shot.

Image Stabilisation

The FinePix T400 is equipped with a 16-megapixel CCD sensor and a high ISO range of 100 – 3200* which combats camera / hand shake and subject movement, enabling the capture of high quality shots even in low light environments. The result is an expanded range of shooting scenarios where the camera can be used without the need for a tripod or other support.
 

HD Movies

The FinePix T400 offers stunning movies in 720p HD with sound at 30fps – you can even zoom during movie capture and use the in-camera movie editing feature to edit movie footage without having to upload to a computer or use complicated movie editing software. There is also a dedicated movie recording button that allows users to start and stop at the press of a button. To enjoy the movies on an HDTV, an optional HD player accessory kit with wireless remote control allows you to enjoy amazingly detailed stills and high resolution movie playback (HDMI cable not included).

Motion Panorama

Motion Panorama mode automatically stitches up to three shots together in-camera to create a panoramic picture. Users simply press the shutter button, rotate the camera and release the shutter – the camera then automatically stitches the images together to create a fantastic panoramic shot that can be easily printed.

Smile / Blink Detection
Smile Detection works with Fujifilm’s highly acclaimed Face Detection technology to detect smiles on faces – the camera won’t capture a photo until it detects a smile. Blink Detection also advises if you have captured an image with people blinking, so you can
re-shoot the photo if necessary.

                                                                                                                              Scene Recognition Auto (SR Auto)

For those occasions when users are shooting a wide variety of images, Scene Recognition Auto (SR Auto) intelligently detects the scene type you are shooting and optimises the camera’s focus, exposure and white balance, ensuring the appropriate camera settings are always deployed to capture the best images of a particular scene or location.

Tracking Auto Focus

Tracking Auto Focus (AF) is perfect when you need to capture a photo of a moving subject and can’t keep your subject in the frame. When you switch on Tracking AF, it will track your subject and ensure that you achieve a crisp picture with your subject in the centre of the frame in perfect focus – particularly helpful when taking photos at sporting events.

Face Recognition Technology

With Face Recognition, the FinePix T400 can identify the people in a photo by name. Fujifilm’s Face Recognition technology allows you to pre-program eight people into the camera. There is also an option to categorise them into groups (eg. friends / family) along with their birth dates. The next time you capture a photo of the same person, the camera will cleverly recognise that person and optimise the settings to ensure the exposure and focus are best suited to the individual, rather than the other people in the photo. The technology can also recognise up to four pre-programmed people on screen at the same time.

The Image Search tool is able to use the Face Recognition data (name, birthday, category) to help find and playback photographs quickly and easily.

Other FinePix T400 features include Face Detection and Automatic Red-Eye Removal,
3-inch LCD screen, 15 Scene Positions, Self-Timer and Intelligent Flash.

FUJIFILM Senior Category Manager – Imaging, Daniel Paul, said the FinePix T400 is small in design but big on features and packed with power.

The FinePix T400 includes a Li-ion rechargeable battery NP-45A, AC Power Adapter, USB cable, Hand Strap, CD-Rom, Owner’s Manual.

The Fujifilm FinePix T400 has a recommended retail price of $199, including GST.
