The new Fujifilm FinePix XP30 is the world’s first water, shock, dust and freeze proof camera to feature built-in GPS functionality*.

Available in Black, Silver, Orange, Blue, Green and White, the FinePix XP30 also incorporates 14-megapixels, 5x optical zoom, a full range of flash overrides, face detection, multiple subject-based scene modes, in-camera retouching functions and HD movie capture.

GPS tagging

The FinePix XP30 is the first rugged, outdoor camera to feature GPS functionality. Capable of telling you where you are in the world, the FinePix XP30 displays locations either as longitude and latitude, or by place name.

The FinePix XP30 has an embedded list featuring around half a million places of interest across the globe. Once a shot has been captured, the image is tagged with location information, enabling you to quickly find shots of a place you’ve visited.

To create a photobook of a specific location, the Photobook Assist function enables you to tag images then turn the pages of the book on the camera’s rear LCD.

If you want to revisit a location but can’t remember the directions, the Photo Navigation mode can help – simply find a shot of the location and the FinePix XP30 will advise how far it is from your current spot and also provide directions to get there.

The Route Logging function allows you to retrace steps and map a route of your travels. The FinePix XP30 stores location data every 10 minutes** and once the images are downloaded to a PC through MyFinePix Studio (bundled image viewing software), a map of the route along with photos you captured along the way, is created using Google Maps.

4-way protection system

Complete with riveted front panel, round body shape and smart two-tone design, the FinePix XP30 is ready for action:

  • Waterproof to 5 metres– perfect for underwater photography, photo capture in heavy rain or snow or even washing the camera under the tap when it gets dirty.
  • Shockproof to 1.5 metres – it can handle being dropped or knocked around.
  • Dust / Sandproof– take it to the beach with no worry of sand clogging it up.
  • Freezeproof to -10°C – perfect for skiing, snowboarding or other sub-zero activities.

Fujinon 5x wide optical zoom

Ideal for underwater and night-time shooting, the FinePix XP30 sports a Fujinon
5x optical zoom covering 28-140mm wide angle (35mm equivalent) and FUJIFILM’s advanced Optical Image Stabilisation system, making it well equipped to deliver high quality images without camera shake or blur.

HD Movie capture

For outdoor photographers keen to shoot video, the FinePix XP30 offers HD movie capture of 720p at 30 frames per second or conventional 640 x 480 pixel definition.

Scene Modes

Incorporated in its healthy range of subject-based scene modes, the FinePix XP30 features Motion Panorama which automatically stitches up to three shots to create a panoramic photo.

There’s also a number of in-camera retouching functions including crop, rotate and
red-eye removal.

FUJIFILM Senior Category Manager – Consumer & Professional Products, Matt Dole, said the FinePix XP30 is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts with active, outdoor lifestyles who need a tough camera to accommodate their environment.

“The camera’s new GPS facility is a perfect addition that will appeal to adventurers and travellers alike,” Mr Dole said.

The FinePix XP30 includes a Li-ion rechargeable battery NP-45A, Battery Charger, Hand Strap, USB cable, CD-Rom and User Guide.

The Fujifilm FinePix XP30 has a recommended retail price of $299, including GST.
