The Fujifilm FinePix F550EXR compact camera is ideal for discerning point and shoot photographers or SLR users who are keen to travel light without compromising image quality and picture taking versatility.

Sleek, clever and quick in a body just 22.9mm wide, the FinePix F550EXR boasts a range of features that will keep pace with the fastest moving action without compromising picture quality, including a new 16-megapixel EXR-CMOS sensor, Fujinon 15x super wide angle lens (24-360mm equivalent), 3.0” high contrast 460k resolution LCD with 160° viewing, high speed shooting capabilities, full HD movie capture at 1080p and built-in GPS tagging.

With advanced image quality, improved low light sensitivity and faster performance, the EXR-CMOS sensor technology brings new advanced imaging features to the FinePix F550EXR.

 

High Speed Continuous Shooting

FUJIFILM’s newly developed EXR Processor and BSI CMOS makes it possible for fast process and file reading. High speed shooting powered by the fast CMOS sensor captures the action at 11fps, while high speed movies are captured at 320fps at full resolution.

 

High sensitivity, Low noise

CMOS turns the sensor upside down to let light directly strike the silicon for higher sensitivity, more uniform response and lower pixel cross talk. Combined with EXR technology, this results in superior photos in low light with even lower noise.

FUJIFILM’s EXR technology has the unique ability to switch its behaviour depending on the shooting conditions, by automatically switching sensor modes. The FinePix F550EXR can be left on EXR Auto mode or you can manually select one of three EXR Priority modes: High Resolution (HR); Dynamic Range (DR) which captures two photos and combines them to provide a range up to 1600%; or High ISO, Low Noise.

 

Multi-Frame Technology

Perfect for portrait or nature photography, this feature synthesises consecutive burst shots into a single composite image with the main shot subject crisply matted against a defocused foreground and background.

 

Intelligent Processor

The FinePix F550EXR can recognise 27 scenes including blue sky, green leaves, sunsets and even backlit scenes. The camera is able to set the perfect setting (AF, exposure, white balance and flash) and capture the best quality picture automatically. 

The EXR processor can spot and reduce purple colour fringing and also improve the resolution at the corners of an image for more uniform image sharpness. The new Rich User Interface also employs Vector fonts and graphics to dramatically improve the appearance of the menus.

 

Built-in GPS Tagging

The FinePix F550EXR is the first FUJIFILM model to feature built-in GPS tagging enabling the camera to recognise your location regardless of where you are in the world. It displays it as longitude or latitude or by place name from an embedded list of half a million place names.

 

When a shot is taken, the image is tagged with location information enabling you to quickly find shots of a place you’ve visited. PhotoBooks of a specific location can also be created and previewed using the PhotoBook Assist function.

 

If you want to revisit a location but can’t remember the directions, the Photo Navigation mode can help – simply find a shot of the location and the FinePix F550EXR will advise how far it is from your current spot and also provide directions to get there.

 

The Route Logging function also allows you to retrace steps and map a route of your travels. The FinePix F550EXR stores location data every 10 minutes* and once the images are downloaded to a PC through MyFinePix Studio (bundled image viewing software), a map of the route along with photos you captured along the way, is created using Google Maps.

 

HD Movie Capture

With its full HD movie quality (1080p), the FinePix F550EXR is equipped with Mini HDMI Ports** making it easy to connect and view images and videos on a HDTV. Movie files are captured with H.264 high profile compression for smaller file sizes, without sacrificing quality.

 

Movie Panorama 360° for All-Round Shots

The FinePix F550EXR sensor extends the sweep range to 360° - shots can also be captured vertically. Sweeping and impressive scenes can be captured complete with fine detail, low noise and high resolution at 180°, 240° or full 360° panoramic ranges.

 

Other features include Super Intelligent Flash; Tracking Auto Focus (AF), Shoot in RAW,Face Recognition, Face Detection,Red-eye Removaland Photobook Assist.
