Fujifilm’s new FinePix F20 digital camera makes light work of the dark

Fujifilm’s new FinePix F20 is a convenient and affordable 6.3 megapixel pocket size digital camera that delivers detailed, natural looking photographs without the need for a flash, even in very low light conditions.

Fujifilm Senior Category Manager – Consumer & Professional Products, Matt Dole, said the FinePix F20 incorporates Fujifilm’s newly released sixth generation Super CCD HR sensor and Real Photo Processor II technology.

“With its impressive ISO sensitivity of 100-2000, the FinePix F20 allows you to capture light through the lens more efficiently. Images remain sharp and natural in bright sunshine, low light or with fast moving subjects,” Mr Dole said.

“Blurry images can be kept to a minimum at the touch of a button with the camera’s Picture Stabilisation Technology which means the FinePix F20 can choose the correct light sensitivity and shutter speed automatically, helping to prevent camera shake or freeze subject movement.

“For flash photography, Fujifilm’s iFlash (Intelligent Flash System) automatically sets the power output of the flash for balanced results that combine natural foreground illumination with optimum background exposure.

“For photos in difficult lighting conditions, the innovative ‘Natural Light & Flash’ Dual Shot mode captures two shots in quick succession - one with flash and one without before displaying them side-by-side for an instant comparison.

“The FinePix F20 incorporates a 3x optical zoom, 6.2x digital zoom and 14 scene positions including Portrait, Landscape, Sport, Night, Fireworks, Sunset, Snow, Beach, Museum and Party. It also has a long-life battery with up to 300 shots per single charge.

“Other features include VGA movie capture of 30 frames per second with sound; quick response times (0.01 second shutter lag and 1.4 second start-up); 2.5-inch LCD screen; as well as PictBridge™ compatibility for direct printing without a PC,” Mr Dole said.

Accessories include a Lithium-ion battery NP-70; AC Power Adaptor AC-5VC; hand strap, USB cable, AV cable and CD-Rom with FinePix Viewer and ImageMixer VCD2 LE for FinePix.

The Fujifilm FinePix F20 is expected to have a recommended retail price of $399 including GST, and is available from October 2006.
