The compact and stylish Fujifilm FinePix F40fd packs a punch with its high tech features

The FinePix F40fd is a compact and stylish new addition to Fujifilm’s flagship range of F series compact cameras - it comes complete with exceptionally high tech features that are sure to pack a punch for the most discerning enthusiast.

 

Fujifilm Senior Category Manager – Consumer & Professional Products, Matt Dole, said the FinePix F40fd incorporates such features as hardware-based Face Detection Technology, Real Photo Technology, ISO 2000 sensitivity at full resolution, 8.3 million pixels, 3x optical zoom and 6.9x digital zoom.

 

“In as little as just 0.05 seconds, the FinePix F40fd is able to accurately detect up to
10 faces in a scene with its Face Detection Technology, and then automatically set the optimised focus and exposure to capture the best portrait shot,” Mr Dole said.

 

"The FinePix F40fd also includes Fujifilm’s i-Flash (Intelligent Flash System) which analyses a scene and automatically controls the flash power output and sensitivity.

 

“Fujifilm’s Real Photo Processor II Technology brings together its
proprietary 6^th generation Super CCD HR along with the Real Photo processor and Fujinon lens to deliver images, detail, sharpness and low noise. The 6^th generation Super CCD HR also provides such advantages as high ISO sensitivity and a faster shutter speed to combat image blur.

 

“Even when shooting fast moving subjects or at night, the ISO 2000 high sensitivity delivers images that are crisp and clear at full resolution, which means there is less compromise between the ISO setting and image sharpness, or the size of the print that can be made.

 

“With its high resolution 8.3 million pixels, there is the freedom to crop and enlarge any part of a photo scene, while still maintaining an impressive quality standard.

 

“The Natural Light & Flash mode captures two photos in quick succession – one with flash and one without – before displaying both photos side by side for easy comparison.

 

“There are 15 special scene position modes – Natural Light, Natural Light & Flash, Underwater, Snow,Night, Close-up, Portrait, Landscape, Sport, Fireworks, Sunset, Beach, Museum, Party, Flower and Text.

 

“Other FinePix F40fd features include TV-quality VGA movie capture of 30 frames per second with sound; 2.5-inch LCD screen; infrared communication via IR simple technology and a long life battery of up to 300 shots,” Mr Dole said.

 

Accessories include a Lithium-ion battery NP-70; Battery Charger BC-70; hand strap; USB cable; A/V cable; CD-Rom with FinePix Viewer and ImageMixer VCD2 LE for FinePix and Owners Manual.

 

Optional accessories for the FinePix F40fd include waterproof casing.

 

The Fujifilm FinePix 40fd is expected to have a recommended retail price of $449.00, including GST.
